No one has more fun with fashion than Jeremy Scott and yesterday’s show was no different. There was a major nineties influence in his collection, best described as “Clueless” meets “Deee-lite” meets “Spice World”. In achieving that look Jeremy used lots of patent leather, angora, marabou & faux fur in his collection mixed with platforms and furry shoes. There was also sweater knits as well as printed chain metal mesh courtesy of Michael Schmidt. It was hard not having flashbacks of nineties raver kids and the fashions that defined the time. This collection brought back so many adolescent memories for us, talk about having a fashion trip. P.S. we’re totally obsessed with the pink pigtails!

Its always exciting going to see a Jeremy Scott fashion show. Jeremy has a way of thinking outside the conventional box of fashion and his shows always have a sense of humor mixed with irony. For the second season in a row Jeremy showed his collection at Milk Studios. One of the main themes we noticed with his collection this season was making “trash” or the idea of “trash” into wearable fashion. Using materials ranging from plastic bags to aluminum cans, it definitely gives the phrase “one mans trash is another mans treasure” a new meaning. On a personal note I had been waiting for an excuse to wear this amazing straight jacket I had purchased a while back at a fetish shop in LA, and for some reason decided to bring it with me to NY. Once I saw his finale look (a wedding dress straight jacket), I knew exactly what I was gonna wear to his after party. Later that night we partied the night away at the Boom Boom Room with the Misshapes DJ’ing. It was definitely a night to remember!
