Stacy Bendet threw the Alice & Olivia presentation this year at The Plaza Hotel. As soon as you walked into the grand ballroom you felt as though you were transported back to the 1920′s. There was piano and jazz music playing in the background, champagne was flowing, and the models were all dressed in flapper style pin-up garb. The collection consisted of blacks, browns, beiges, golds, plums and red tones. There was lots of sequin and metallic fabrics. All together a very feminine and playful collection.
The Alice & Olivia presentation was definitely a breathe of fresh air in the hectic and nonstop fashion week climate. You can always count on A&O for a fun bash as they normally opt for a party/presentation to showcase their latest collection, as opposed a traditional runway show. This year the collection was very girly and fun. Pinks and blush tones were mixed with sequins and polka dots. There were even bright orange bell bottoms on one model giving the overall collection a retro vibe. As one can expect with an Alice & Olivia presentation, there is almost always a dope performance by a musical act. This season it was duo DJ Mia Moretti and violinist Caitlin Moe. They covered songs such as “Bulletproof” by La Roux, “Kids” by MGMT, and our personal favorite of the night, “Alejandro” by Lady Gaga.
